Fisherman's Cottage

Robin Hoods Bay

Fisherman's Cottage is steeped in history and is located in the Dock in Robin Hoods Bay; it is also one of the closest cottages to the slipway and beach.  Located in an idyllic setting and built in 1680 it was once the haunt of fishermen and smugglers.  Originally called Fisherman's Arms it remained a Tavern for over two hundred years.  Latterly it was the home of Oliver Storm, who was one of the last full time Bay fisherman and Coxswain of Robin Hoods Bay's lifeboat.

This cosy cottage has just been newly renovated. The living room is quite extraordinary with old dark wood panelling reclaimed from an old ship, it was handcrafted many years ago by Reuben Bulmer, who apparently spent many painstaking hours completing it by candlelight.  In addition there is a large bright window, with a long comfy seat; it is lovely to sit here on a summer's afternoon reading a book or watching the world go by.  The living room has a log burner with a fireplace surround made from reclaimed stone.

The cottage has a newly fitted kitchen and bathroom. It is south west facing and is light and sunny in the afternoon.  Fisherman's Cottage is easy to access by car. There is also a free carpark pass for Fisherhead carpark for the duration of your stay.

Fisherman's Cottage is available to rent throughout the year, but we are sorry the cottage is none smoking, and does not take pets.  Some of the stairs in the cottage come from old ships, and can be quite steep.
